In general, those from Asiaxpat are very presentable.
I hired one in 2010 and let her go after 13 months service. She was capable of doing the house cleansing work and clean but she didnt not want to cook and go market. Perhaps, it was because I stayed home and she thought I could do by myself. I was ok as she was efficient and clean. Hence, she got a lot of private time after doing just the cleansing - talking on the phone, watching DVD late every night and taking nap in the afternoon...
Problems came after we moved from TST to Shatin as she didn't want to live in Shatin (far away from friends I thought) -suddenly breaking a number of household items; dropping the hot iron on floor when she was ironing; returning home late at close to 12:00am on her day off... We finally decided to terminate her as we were reminded by friends that these were her signals.
I would say those from Asiaxpat are very well aware of their rights, bargaining position and are very concerned of lifestyle. They may be capable as they know well of their position but better dont expect more.

It is hard to say whether $5000 is market price - there are some getting more than $5000 and there are a lot just getting the min $3580 or 3740.
