My son is S3 this year, is it ok if I buy ideapad since price is much cheaper than thinkpad.

但如果你是商業使用，或希望產品高耐久性和質量高於一切的，ThinkPad是更具吸引力的。

聯想IdeaPad是為一般家庭用家開發，價錢大眾代，IdeaPad是一個不錯的選擇。

thanks all. I mainly use at home. The existing one is thinkpad but only last for 1 year

I don't want to spend too much on the notebook since my son will not well care the computer.

Indeed the Z500 is too good for a S3 student. You may consider cheaper model with i3 CPU instead of i5 CPU and asked the sells if the OS could be downgraded to Windows 7 instead of using Windows 8. And, you may also ask if any Microsoft Office software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is included even it is a starter version. For your reference.

For a S3 student, I strongly suggest u to go for Window 8. A kid learns much quicker, only adults are reluctant to learn new stuff.
All software and MS products must be developed base on Window 8; even the next version if Windows.
