Day 1: Venice Arrival, Grand Canal & Hidden Cannaregio
  • 09:00 – 13:00 | Arrival & Vaporetto Pass Setup
Arrive at Venice Santa Lucia station. Instantly purchase a 72-hour transport pass at the station or via the official Venezia Unica Portal. This covers all your water buses (vaporetti) to Murano and Burano.
  • 13:00 – 15:30 | The Grand Canal Cruise & Check-in
Board Vaporetto Line 1 right outside the station. This acts as a slow-moving, low-cost open-air cruise. Take it to the Rialto stop, check into your budget stay, and grab a slice of pizza.
  • 15:30 – 18:30 | Rialto Bridge & The Labyrinth
Walk across the historic Rialto Bridge. Skip the main tourist souvenir tracks and deliberately get lost in the San Polo district's winding alleys to see local artisans at work.
  • 18:30 – 21:30 | Cannaregio Cicchetti Crawl
Head to the Jewish Ghetto and the Fondamenta della Misericordia in Cannaregio. Do a traditional cicchetti (Venetian tapas) crawl. Order small plates like baccalà mantecato (creamy cod) paired with an ombra (small glass of local wine) for €2–€4 per stop.

🛶 Day 2: Island Hopping (Murano & Burano)
  • 08:30 – 11:30 | Murano Glassblowing
Take Vaporetto Line 3 from the train station or Line 4.1 from Fondamente Nove straight to Murano. Walk along the canals and step inside a factory to watch a live glassblowing demonstration. Visit the 7th-century Basilica dei Santi Maria e Donato to see its stunning mosaic floor.
  • 11:30 – 15:30 | Burano Color Explosion & Seafood Lunch
Hop on Vaporetto Line 12 from Murano to Burano (approx. 30 minutes). Explore the intensely bright, neon-colored fisherman houses. Look for elderly women lacemaking on the streets. Sit down at a local trattoria to try Risotto de Gò (a classic Burano fish risotto).
  • 15:30 – 18:30 | Return via Torcello (Optional) or Venice Rest
Take Line 12 back to mainland Venice. Stop briefly at Torcello to see Venice’s oldest Byzantine mosaics, or head back to the main island to rest.
  • 19:00 – 21:30 | Quiet Dinner in Dorsoduro
Walk along the Zattere promenade in Dorsoduro. Dine at a quiet canal-side trattoria away from the crowds.

🏛️ Day 3: St. Mark’s Splendors & High-Speed Train to Florence
  • 08:30 – 11:30 | St. Mark’s Square & Doge’s Palace
Head straight to St. Mark's Square. Enter the golden St. Mark’s Basilica (pre-book tickets on the official St. Mark's Basilica Site). Directly next door, explore the gothic Doge's Palace and walk through the inside of the famous Bridge of Sighs.
  • 11:30 – 13:00 | Quirky Bookstore & Castello
Walk to the residential Castello district. Visit Libreria Acqua Alta, a whimsical bookstore where books are piled into bathtubs, gondolas, and bins to protect them from high tides.
  • 13:30 – 16:00 | High-Speed Train to Tuscany
Board a high-speed Trenitalia Frecciarossa or Italo train from Venice Santa Lucia to Florence Santa Maria Novella (approx. 2 hours 15 minutes).
  • 16:30 – 21:00 | Florence First Look & Oltrarno Dinner
Drop bags at your hotel. Walk to the Piazza del Duomo to stare up at Brunelleschi’s red-tiled dome. Cross the famous Ponte Vecchio jewelry bridge into the Oltrarno neighborhood for a budget-friendly plate of pappa al pomodoro (Tuscan tomato bread soup).

🎨 Day 4: Renaissance Masterpieces & Tuscan Views
  • 08:15 – 11:30 | The Uffizi Gallery
Enter the Uffizi Gallery during the quietest morning slot. Pre-booking on the official Uffizi Ticket Portal is absolutely mandatory weeks in advance. Spend 3 hours seeing works by Botticelli, Da Vinci, and Michelangelo.
  • 11:30 – 14:00 | Mercato Centrale Street Food
Walk to the San Lorenzo neighborhood. Explore the bustling ground floor of the Mercato Centrale. Grab a cheap, legendary schiacciata sandwich or a traditional lampredotto (tripe) roll at Da Nerbone.
  • 14:00 – 17:00 | Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens
Head back across the Arno river to explore the sprawling Boboli Gardens behind the Pitti Palace. Climb to the top for excellent views of the Tuscan hills.
  • 17:30 – 21:00 | Sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo
Walk up the steps to Piazzale Michelangelo. This is the absolute best free panoramic sunset view over Florence. Grab a cheap slice of pizza or gelato beforehand to enjoy while sitting on the stone steps.

🏛️ Day 5: Train to Rome & The Ancient Highway
  • 09:00 – 11:00 | High-Speed Train to the Eternal City
Take a morning high-speed train from Florence to Roma Termini (approx. 1 hour 35 minutes). Drop your bags at your central accommodation.
  • 11:30 – 15:30 | The Center-City Classic Walk
Embark on a free, self-guided walking route: start at the Spanish Steps, walk down to the Trevi Fountain (throw a coin over your left shoulder!), marvel at the Pantheon's massive open dome (buy a €5 ticket on the official Italian Ministry of Culture Portal), and finish at Piazza Navona.
  • 16:00 – 18:30 | Jewish Ghetto & Campo de' Fiori
Explore the historic Jewish Quarter. Try a traditional carciofo alla giudia (deep-fried Roman artichoke). Walk through the open market stalls of Campo de' Fiori.
  • 19:00 – 22:00 | Trastevere Nightlife
Cross the Tiber river into Trastevere. Wander its ivy-clad cobblestone lanes and sit down for an authentic, wallet-friendly dinner of Cacio e Pepe or Rigatoni alla Carbonara.

⚔️ Day 6: Gladiators & Emperors in Ancient Rome
  • 08:30 – 12:30 | Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
Secure your entry ticket weeks in advance via the official Colosseo Archaeological Park Ticketing. Explore the ancient arena floor where gladiators fought, then walk up the Palatine Hill to view the sweeping ruins of the Roman Forum.
  • 12:30 – 14:30 | Budget Lunch in Monti
Walk into the trendy, bohemian neighborhood of Monti, located right behind the Colosseum. Grab artisanal street-food pizza slices sold by weight (pizza al taglio).
  • 14:30 – 17:30 | Capitoline Museums & Vittoriano
Climb up the Michelangelo-designed Piazza del Campidoglio to visit the Capitoline Museums. Afterward, head to the massive white Vittoriano monument for a grand view of the city center.
  • 18:00 – 21:00 | Evening Stroll through the Roman Forum Overlook
Walk down the Via dei Fori Imperiali at dusk when the ancient ruins are beautifully illuminated.

🇻🇦 Day 7: The Vatican City & St. Peter's
  • 07:30 – 11:30 | Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel
Book the earliest morning entry on the official Vatican Museums Portal. Spend hours navigating the massive tapestries and maps rooms before entering Michelangelo’s legendary Sistine Chapel.
  • 11:30 – 13:30 | St. Peter’s Basilica & Dome Climb
Walk around the corner to St. Peter’s Square. Entrance to the Basilica is free, but the line can be long. Inside, view Michelangelo's Pietà. Pay a small cash fee to climb the steps to the top of the Dome for an unparalleled view of Rome.
  • 13:30 – 16:00 | Lunch in Prati
Escape the immediate Vatican tourist traps by walking into the local Prati neighborhood. Grab a fresh panino or enjoy a bowl of pasta at a local diner.
  • 16:00 – 19:30 | Castel Sant’Angelo Walk
Stroll down past the imposing fortress of Castel Sant'Angelo. Walk across the angel-lined bridge as the street musicians begin playing.

🔑 Day 8: Secret Views & Departure
  • 09:00 – 11:30 | Aventine Keyhole & Orange Garden
Head up to the peaceful Aventine Hill. Look through the famous Aventine Keyhole in the Knights of Malta estate door to see a perfectly framed view of St. Peter's Dome. Relax nearby under the shade of the trees in the Orange Garden (Giardino degli Aranci).
  • 11:30 – 13:30 | Packing & Final Roman Lunch
Head back to your hotel, pack your bags, and squeeze in one final gelato from Gelateria del Teatro or Frigidarium.
  • 14:00+ | Airport Transfer
Head to Roma Termini. Board the Leonardo Express Train directly to Fiumicino Airport (FCO) for your flight home.

CALL UBER.
