其實我已search過關於運車到澳洲的話題，知道有人話好繁複好貴，亦有人話比當地買便宜好多。話平的媽咪，可否講下點樣做得成？或者其他媽咪可否俾下意見？

我想運車只因香港車價平、咪數少、設備好，想買1or2架普通的買餸車運過去而已，唔係因為有架名車渣開好鍾意想帶埋過去。

兩年前有朋友在sydney買一架2001年的civic也要AUD$10000，仲係無電窗、布座、內籠土氣﹔當時在香港只不過HKD$35000，設備正常、皮座。所以我覺得澳洲車很不便宜﹗

2nd hand car in HK is cheaper. I have 3 cars from HK to Aust in the last few years. Before u decide to ship any car from HK to aust, consider the followings,
1. same model (i mean technically inside, not just the model) in aust (it will be easier for u to get support / service / parts, etc)
2. shipping cost (approx HK$20,000 for a 20ft container, which can fit 1 car)
3. local fees, such as customs, quarantine, etc plus customs duty and GST (depends on the value of yr car)
4. insurance arrangement (most of the major ins companies do not insure personal imported car)

remember you have to own and use (which means that you need to have a driver lic in HK) the car for over 12 months to be eligible to apply for the import permit. the aust govt is also tightening the rules of personal imported car. From 18 Nov 2010, each individual can only import ONE car for every 5 years (use to be ONE car for every 12 months). when you are ready to apply, u need to provide supporting doc to proof you are intended to stay in aust permantely. you can get more info from

Thanks for your sharing. Now I learn that shifting a car is not cheap and simple as I think. It maybe worth for new and luxury cars. But in my case, I know I should buy a local, economic, little car.

We bought it for AUD19000 one year ago!
If you can wait, dont rush in making a decision, there are times when prices will go down (sale).

it is true that not every car ship from hk to aust is justify when taking into account all the costs and time unless you are some kind of car enthusiast. in fact it costs (both time and monies) me even more to send my dogs (total 4 of them)from hk to aust but u cannot put a $ on yr family member

agree with you here: can't put a $ on yr family member.
forced my two cats to migrate with us here, fortunately they seem happy enough.

哈！我0地居然同款車 我都怕c，所以一聽有6個airbag，正！可能因為我用ABN買，sales話有優惠喎，我好彩，個sales係ABC，曉中文，哈哈！

過多兩年，我個女夠秤考牌，我部車應該俾佢開啦:lol

哈哈！好彩冇買紅色！我都中意紅色，但我怕自己開紅色車會好勇，所以最後買左奶白色

我個GPS都幾貴架，不過我揀佢係因為有中文……
