My son changed to North Point Man Sang. It's very good and satisfactory.
Things happened in St Dominic:
1. Teacher not tell parents what happened with the child at school. I call her and every time she said OK & no problem. But later found out he is sleeping at school and always go away from his seat & not listen to the teacher. But all these the teacher not told me because she don't want to get into trouble. I consider the teachers as not caring and not responsible.
2. Can you accept a NET teacher who is Philipino? They charge almost $3000 a month and claim they have NET teacher. But in Man Sang, the NET teachers are real Westerners with native monther tongue. ANd the teachers are very willing to share what do the child behave in school.
3. In st Dominic, I have no mean to know what my son has learned at school and the daily routine. I don't know how much eng and PTH time per week and is there playground time at all. the teacher cannot produce the timetable for me even though I asked few times. The boy never say anything at school. He did not say any words, or songs learnt from the school. He did not mention the teachers' name at home.
In Man Sang, he enjoyed the school and sing Eng, chinese and PTH songs learnt in school. And he will say the teachers name who teach him the songs. And I know fully the daily and weeking timetable. The school is transparent and the teachers and clerks and supervisor are all very nice and helpful.
4. I asked for seeing the class to make sure what happened in school in St Dominic, in order to understand why my son behave like that. It was declined by the teacher and she even don't care to ask for pemission from her seniors. She just don't want to create anything that could get her into trouble.
5. I tried to call the class teacher in St dominic and understand more on my son's development. She just want to hang up quickly every time and don't want to discuss further. I just called three to four times over the 4 months. She even suggested there is assessment at the end of the semester meaning that I should not call her anymore on the things happening on my son!
All these are my personally experience in St Dominic for PN class. It could be for reference to other mummies thinking to join this school.
when you go for interview at St Dominic, there is actually no interview cause they don't even look at my boy while he is playing on the ground. They just ask to pay for the registration fee and books & misc fee. They are not asking just the normal fee of $660.
St dominic almost $3000. Man Sang is even cheaper HK$2300 even though they have a few NET. You know most of the school with NET teacher will charge a higher school fee. But this school did not. Even together with school bus it is cheaper than St Dominic.
you may try Star of the Sea in Chaiwan. It is a catholic KG. It's PN started only since last year so may be they still have seats. THey are very lovely and caring for the children. The principal comes out to talk to the parents direclty during school pick up and morning time. She recongnise all the student's name and face in the KG. But they don't have NET teacher. I move from there to St Dominic and I regretted so much!
海星 has no school bus. I saw most of the people walk to school cause they just like in nearby area/ chaiwan.
This is the problem thats why I dropped out. Cause my maid has to carry the baby to take the son to school. but my son sometimes sleep on the bus while on his weay back home. my maid is not able to take him off the bus, not to say carry him back home. So I decided to find another school not by bus.
