Help, bb refused to drink from milk bottle after
breastfeeding for one month


My bb is now one month old. Mostly I feed her direct
from my breast for the past one month. Lately she
totally refused to drink from milk bottle, and I have tried
changing different milk bottle, like gg, nuk, avent. She
usually will drink about 0.5 to 1 oz and then cried! What can i do? Any advice?

Be patient, bb needs time to switch to bottlefeed. Ask your hubby or someone else to bottlefeed bb and don't let bb see you around. My bb would not drink from bottle even when hearing my voice

我的bb約個零月大時都係唔肯用樽飲奶的. 不過到左約2個月, 有時1星期會有2-3餐係用樽餵的, 大個少少(兩個月), 佢肚餓就自然肯食.
而家我隻b 3個月大, 佢未餓時, 無論用樽定埋身佢都唔肯食; 餓同肯飲的話, 工人話佢今朝10mins已經飲了4oz (不過工人氹左佢15mins佢先肯開始啜).

i had the same problem when i prepared to get back to work. it took more than a week for my baby to adjust to bottles. don't switch all feeds to bottles in one time. try to feed him in a bootle once on the 1st day; and 2 feeds on the 2nd day, etc. my baby won't drink from the bottle when he sees me around or hear my voice too. so you have to ask someone else to feed him. when he cries, you remove the bottle first. try again when he calms down. eventually he'll have to drink from it when he's very hungry. it's hard... but if you have no choice, you'll have to overcome it. and so does your baby.
how old is your baby? he was nearly 2 months when i first gave him bottles.

Thank you amypekkle and iip00, my bb is now one month and one week old. I will have to go back to work in mid-Sept, that's why I started bottle feed her. I failed may be because when my pui yuet feed her, she is not really that hungry, just that becoz she is awake and is already 3 hrs or 2 hrs, then the pui yuet will feed her in bottle. Next time i will ask her to do it when she is really hungry!!

You are welcome!! My bb had tried about one to two weeks, just replaced one feed every day. From my experience, avoid replacing the last feed cos bb loves to be held and fell asleep while you're nursing him. Add oil

Hi ladies,

I have stop trying use milk bottle these few days coz baby caught a cold and cough and is very fussy.... don't want to make her cry more, so feed her all direct from breast. Will start trying to use bottle again next week!:-(

Hi ladies,

BB took 15 days to recover. I tried bottle feeding last night and it took her 1.5 hr to finish 3.5 oz.Is this normal?? How many milk bottles shall I buy to change to bottle feeding??

我BB都係唔肯用奶樽 SINCE 3個月
因為頭三個月我都係埋身餵
到我要返工
我俾NUK佢都叫好少少肯放入口
不過
我都要係抱佢令佢在半睡狀態先會吸啜奶樽
如是者
到十個月
其間
都要抱到佢在半睡狀態先會飲到奶 佢開眼望到奶樽就會喊同頂出來唔肯飲
到十個月
佢直頭連奶樽都唔肯啜變相用有飲管杯
所以佢好早戒左奶樽啦

或者你都試下抱到佢半睡狀態時餵佢呀
加油!!

but nomally she cried fiercely when she wakes up and wants to drink milk..... so how can I feed her when she is half asleep?? Can u give me more details??

Hi all,

My bb after one and a half week, can now drink from both bottle and me. She can now finish 5oz from bottle,not bad but takes about at least 30 mins. Is that normal?? Also I have now used Nuk which she can accept, most like mama's nipple I think.

Anyway, thank you all for your advice and support.
