I heard that it could work if you have really strong determination. At the first few times, there would be really not much milk. But keep on pumping can stimulate milk production similar to bb's sucking. However, for maintaining milk supply in the long run, it is of course not as good as letting bb to suck.
For my elder son, Rara, I also pumped and bottle fed him for similar reason. But I still let him suck twice a day or even more in weekends so as to keep the milk supply. In this way, I managed to feed him for over 10 months.
Of course you can feed BB immediately after delivery. I fed my BB at the labour room in QE immediately after he was born. You don't need to worry whether yr hv how much milk. I think you hv heard that the 初乳 is most precious for the BB. The milk must be enough because the stomach of the new BB was very small (size like a 波子).
But you hv to be prepared that he will need to be fed once every 2 hours and he will hv to suck for 30-45 mins each time for the first week. You should then 上奶 after the first week, then you may choose to direct feed or pump out. Of course, it's always better for direct feed. I hv been BF my little boy until now (10-month).
You will be half suceed if you have a good start.
