I'd a bad experience with my very first time in choosing a company to decorate my very first home.
A company sent only 2 young "kids" to decorate my house in the very beginning and gave me rubbish furniture. At the end they call upon 7-8 "kids" to ask me to pay the bill. I didn't give them even 1 cent and they took away all the things leaving behind damaged wall and floor. It took me ~1 month to settle this.
I wouldn't state the name of that company as it has so many names!!! (all belong to a single company)
Here is their sales technique:
1/. Bright shopping window (of course)
2/. Ask you for a deposit of HK$1000 before they will arrange the so-call "designer" to see you, say if you don't like the design, you can buy things from them using that HK$1000 e.g. for pillows, mattress, etc
3/. The "designer" won't give you any hints (which I think is very important for beginners), things like, the handle of the wardrobe/drawer, would it leave a gap between the wardrobe and the wall, etc.
He/she will ask you to sign on every graphs shortly afterwards and will not let you change anything (even though it was their measurement problem!, I'd to move my communication device because of this!)
4/. The company only responsible for the making of furniture but not the decoration
5/. You cannot find a specific person to follow your order, i.e. the sales said it's not his problem, the "designer" said it's not his problem again
For my opinion, I think it's better to have 1 company responsible for both decoration and furniture making. The two parts will adjust for each others.
Ask for a specific person to follow your order.
By the way, the decoration of my house was taken part by Design Information (Shatin). I think it's a acceptable choose.
