Did you get the receipt? police can help to find the driver.
Using receipt to find the driver for loss finding -----> HK Police have no such service, even you have the car number and the driver's name.
In HK taxi business, there is no any record and system which can help you to find/contact the driver. Some city (e.g. Shanghai) have the system. My experience: I left something in Shanghai taxi. I used the contact information at the back of the receipt to call the taxi centre, then I found and contracted the driver (within 10 mins).
where did u get off? if its your estate, the driver might return it to your management office. try chk with them. since the managment office prob didn't know which apt lost it, they can't find u.
that's what happened to my friend who lost a bag few days ago. good luck!!

I was very naive to believe that radio message will help...unfortunately people are dishonest, until now it isnt returned. The worst thing is I actually has bought a home content insurance, that I could claim it without having to pay a thousand amt for radio message.
I can tell you my experience. I left my mobile phone on the taxi. Just after 5 minutes, I call my mobile, ring no answer. A few minutes later I called, it was off. As I got the receipt, I report loast to ploce. Police found driver phone number and I got the phone back.
