Katiemami, 我唔打算再追果邊post lu, post owner announce 唔玩,得番D為argue而 argue 的人.睇到好唔C服. I have learnt something already enough.
Chapman ma,
Thanks again for the pics link of Thomas again, they were very well edited. Tyler repeatedly asked us to show it to him. We have played close to 50 times to him during the weekend.
Jojo,
I went to a talk by a UK Professor a month ago, the topic was on bilingual or trilingual education of kids. The key concept is to stay consistent from the date of birth. If you are speaking Cantonese to her from the beginning, better to stay with it or else the baby will get confused.
The prof. said the best age to introduce the 2nd or 3rd language is anytime between infant stage to 11yrs old. If you already plan to send her to a bilingual school, she will automatically learn at a 'speedy' mode and can pick up very well those languages easily. No need to worry about she might lag behind other English speaking kids.
I can try to scan you the handouts of the talk if you are interested. (Might take a while though......)
thanks w2b!
yeah i'd be interested to see the notes too, no rush though :) or i can borrow it when i see u next time and make a copy. thanks again!
bi- or tri-lingual schooling - my hubby and i had some discussions on the topic and we both worried that studying @ IS is a path of no return... yet the freedom, nicer learning environment & exposure to 2+ languages are very attractive.... aiyo 頭都大埋呀!
