Red light, but it is a complicated case since the police claim that I can not drive on the strength of my foreign driving license and they say I must use my HK driving license.
I entered HK using a foreign passport when I was caught by a red light camera.
Thank you.
I was caught by a red light camera. Police sent letter to owner (myself, car registered under my HKID number) asking for driver (myself, entered HK using foreign passport). Police accepted my visitor status (asked for copy of foreign passport, landing slip issued by HK Immigration Department and foreign driving license). They then passed the case to court and I was summoned with my HKID number on the summons.
Didn't want to waste time going to court and hence plead guilty by letter.
What I am trying to find out is whether this type of court orders normally show
a. fine + points; or
b. fine only, with points registered in their system and not printed on this court order.
