Has anyone ordered one and successfully pulled out the 4G Microdrive for their DSLRs? The price is VERY attractive, concidering that it is more expensive to get a 2G Microdrive compared to the creative unit.
I have been using a 1G Microdrive that I'm quite happy to put back into the MuVo, but wanted to see if anyone had tried this before.
Dear tinman,
I got a 4G microdrive from a MuVo2, the operation is very simple, only a simple + driver will do. however because my D Cam is a D1x which is now an old model, I can only read the card. For example, if I copy a picture into the 4G microdrive under FAT32 format, my cam can read the pictures, but it cannot write data onto the card. Friend told me that due the the usual standard of the DSLR are FAT16, we must format the drive to FAT16 standard. But in theory, FAT16 can only handle HD as much as 2G. but when I tried to reformat the 4G microdrive, strangely the computer (WIN 2000) CAN format the whole 4G with FAT16!? And my D1x still cannot use the card. I'm still trying the solve the question. tomorrow I will try to do it again, hope I can get good result. I think you will agree that getting a large volume microdrive will be very nice for us who use DSLR, speciallly for shooting RAW and NEF file. I hope I can at least make it a useable 2G microdrive so that I may bring only one microdrive for taking photo even for one whole day.
