Different person have different cycle. We do not necessarily ovulate on the 14th day. If your cycle is regular, it will be easier to find out by using the ovulation prediction kit. However if your cycle is not so regular, you may need to use more 5 (usually 5 prediction sticks per package) prediction sticks to find out when you ovulate. If let's say your cycle is 34 days, you should start using the prediction kit around the 16th day. If your cycle is very irregular, you should start doing the test two to three days after your period until you see the positive result. Bear in mind that even if you see the positive result, it doesn't necessarily mean you ovulate on that day. It is best to keep trying within the 36 hours since you see the positive result.
Some tips for you is to better do the test in the mid of the day (at least after 10am) and make sure you haven't gone to the toilet for 4 hrs or so. Don't drink too much water as if your urine is too diluted then the result may not be accurate.
I'd suggest you take your daily basal body temperature as well so that you know when you finished ovulated then you can stop trying. Combine with the prediction kit and observation of your cervical fluid, your chance of getting pregnant will be much higher. I used the ovulation prediction kit only when I first start to try for baby but never succeed until I start taking my basal body temperature and cervical fluid, I got pregnant in the first month. It is all about how well you understand your cycle.
If you want to find out more, go look for a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MPH. It teaches me a lot about my body and my cycle. I think you will find it useful too.
Your explain Very clear and I also see the "wht thing" feel the "EGG" have inside. So in this month I will be use <Thermometer>, <clarplan>, and <Fertility tester>.
Hope this take OK !!!!
My cycle is very steady - with 33 or 34 days in the past few months.
my last M date was 24 Mar. Based on my own calcucation, my coming ovaluation date should be around 12 April. However, when I used the website (recommended by one member) to calculate the date, the programme suggested 9 April. I am a bit confused.
Althought I have a box of Clear Plan, it seems that it is not very useful. I have been using the test for 2 months but the line never gets close to dark blue or to the reference line.
Can any mothers share the experience or advice me how to calculate my ovaluation date?
