yes...the teacher in NG also advised me to enrol in 2 term i/o getting into a class in the middle now. I also think the same as you, i.e. trying Sunkids for the 1st term first to see how it goes...

Actaully, I have been thinking of moving away from TM like you. I see many flats with my family in the past 12 months. Since my family is big with 6 persons, the choice is limited with our little bugget. That's why we have to put aside our thoughts at this moment.....but it keeps lingering on on my mind....~~~

I like TM. For me, everything is absolutely fine. But for schooling, choices are far less than other districts (e.g. international school)

I like to live in TM too, might be I'm a lazy mommy, if there are too many school choices just like in Kowloon or HK island, I will go crazy and I'm forced to follow what other parents are doing / planning for their kids since your baby is born. As TM has limited choice, I have the excuse not to think too much. I think it's good. Also TM still have good primary school and Secondary school with excellent open exam result.

Actually when I was small, I lived in Kowloon. But I did not study in a famous kindergarten and primary school. But I came first in the form almost every year and then entered a good secondary school. Yet I moved to TM in the middle of F.1 and then enrolled in a school which was not very good in TM in F.2. However, I entered the university (there were only 2 universities in HK.

I have seen a lot of students being unhappy in a Band ONe school. But then when they studied F.6 in another poorer school after F.5, they were much more confident and finally they could enter the university.

So maybe a very good school doesn't really matter
so much.

My husband agrees too.

However, he even does not agree to let her join a playgroup or buy CDs, DVDs, books, etc. for her. :;pppp: He said that I did not have all these things when I was small. But I think that there are things that we can do/buy if we can afford it.

me either. I am also a lazy mom, I don't like to compete for the famous schools. It must be tiring. What I prefer is my children can speak fluent english & mandarin and that is the reason why I only mention NG & Sunkids. I know I think too much, but I can't control, I feel ashamed and regretful if I dont plan it now....and I also think of if I should put them in (Yuen Yuen Primary) just because they use english and mandarin as a teaching lauguage......

relax, don't be too stressful. You still have long way to go with your daughter.
you are now just looking for nursery, you still can enrol to NG for K1. I don't expect they can speak fluent english at this age (some of them might be not yet started to speak)
in my case, when I started to look for a nursery, I searched at BK and knowing that St. Peter and NG are closed to where I live and the comments at BK for these two nursery are good. St Peter even was my first choice but they are full. They are not English speaking nursery. NG is my 2nd choice only with high tution fee. I still planned to look for other kindergarten for K1 such as St Peter (Siu Lun) with education coupon and is famous in TM too

but if you dont expect them speak good english, why you join NG for nursery since the school fee is quite high? And I thought NG moms will want their kids study until K3 so that they will have good english background !! I am wrong.
