中央圖書館

這個暑假發現中央圖書館原來是一個親子+閱讀+游戲的好去處。

裹面又不時有展覽，又有一個玩具圖書館，兒童多媒體資料室，又有Cafe，成日在裹面都得，到走的時侯再行

I also think that it is a good place. The toy's library is really good. My son had already cultivated a reading habit.

今日至去完.實在好嘈,好似冇人認為圖書館係一個應該安靜既地方----講電話,講古仔,嬉戲,嗌仔,捉依因,乜都有.真係好討厭. :evil:

I would think library should also be a place that a child learns to behave. Definitely 講電話,嬉戲,嗌仔,捉依因 should not be acceptable. While for 講古仔 I think it should be acceptable for the children's floor as long as the voice is not interrupting others. Actually there are some isolating sitting areas and if anyone wants to read the books to the children, they should stay in some corners not affecting others.

Luckily in the last two Sundays which I visited the Central Library, the place was not that bad.

見到哩個topic, 都想入黎呻下。

依家d人,無論在什麼地方, 都大大聲講手提電話。像圖書館、音樂廳之類的地方, 電話響已經離譜, 就"當"你忘記關機或關掉響鬧裝置; 咁有電話入, 你咪按"No" 囉！如果你想接, 咪按"yes"後盡快離開出去外面講囉！

真係唔明現在的人, 知不知道禮貌與修養。

Even worse, they don't care about the books. Though this might not be happened in the Central Library at CWB, a lots of books kept in our library found dirty, old or torn. Sometimes I'd rather buy new books at regular interval period than borrow from our library. :evil:

I was also annoyed when I found many books, as you said, dirty, old and torn. My son would be so disappointed when he opened the book and found that it was worn out. I also found that some books had written chinese translation to some vocabulary. I just don't understand why this would happen. Are there no penalty to those people who damage the books?

However, I would still think that it is good to let children explore in the library which is a tool for them to explore knowledge, new interest and find an answer to their questions. Sometimes, buying books to them may not be able to replace the function of library in total.

While as parents, we encourage our children to attain knowledge but it is equally, if not more, important to teach them to be considerate.

Exactly I dislike much about those scribbles on the books.

But last time we were in the library at City Hall, the books kept there found quite new and clean. I like there very much however it is too far from home. :-|

I also found that some books had written chinese translation to some vocabulary. I just don't understand why this would happen. Are there no penalty to those people who damage the books?

我曾經寫紙仔投訴過沙田兒童圖書館, 一日後有位圖書館副館長之類的職員覆電給我, 稱會多加注意, 努力改善云云. 係就係在短期內清靜了, 不用多久又故態復萌 :evil:

前兩星期我更親眼目睹一位家長手持手機談笑自若, 一見職員行過, 就把手機垂放入衣袖, 之後沾沾自喜跟機中對話人說: 攪掂! 可以繼續

要將圖書館恢復為一個安靜既地方, 其實不應該依賴員工巡查, 應該由家長們自身做起, 控制一下講說話的聲量, 入館前手提電話轉震機, 唔係咁難

Can't agree with you more.即使擁有全全世界的知識,卻不會體諒別人的需要,自私自利,又怎能說是有知識有修養的人?

Jelly說的沙田圖書館,是我兩母心目中的黑點.那裏的小朋友完全當圖書館是遊樂場.有一次女兒怒得想寫信投訴.結果不了了之.但環境實在太惡劣,我們現在寧願花五十多元的來回車費兩個小時的時間過海去中央,也不去這個不花一分一毫車費,就可以去到的沙田圖書館.

I used to go to the library almost everyday when I was small. However, now I hate to go to the one in our district. At the floor of children library, some tables are designed and placed for the small kids to sit and read but there are lots of selfish adults whom occupied the limited seats to sit next to their children. It is not a big deal if there are not too many readers in the library. Especially at the peak hour, those selfish adults still occupy the seats not for purpose of reading together with their children but reading newspaper themselves. I always come across with this situation and will require them to leave away for other children to sit on but now I am too tired of doing so. :evil:
