Canon 20D & stuff

網上公佈了相關資料，上市日期約在九月中，價格約在萬八元左右。

配置如下：
EOS 20D （外表跟 10D 是差不多，但會較輕）
有效像素達820萬
焦距換算比率是 1.6X (非常失望)
快門速度最高可達 1/8000
每秒五格的連拍速度

同時發表兩只 EF-S 數碼專用鏡頭：
EFS 10-22mm Lens
EFS 17-85mm IS Lens

20D... not sure if 20D is using the same CMOS as 10D/300D. If that is the case... I am afraid boosting up the pixel might caused -ve effect..

The 580EX.. heard might over $3K. Money money money!

I am more interesting in kits lens..
17-85mm IS USM

Never use IS lens before, how useful of it?

But it starts with F4 only..

Any idea which one is more useful?
F4+IS function
or smaller aperture - F3.5 ?

By using IS, can we use higher shutter speed?

Sorry, 17-85mm IS is not in the kit. It costs US$599.

The CMOS is not the same in 10D or 300D, but with similar size.

IS is a good stuff and let you hold your camera on hand for more than 1/2s.

F4+IS=F2.8 or more

The betterment of 20D is the 0.2s startup and 5 fps continuous up to 23 frames.

But the 17-85mm IS Lens is a bit expensive, @4-5K. for a EF-S only lens.

Last weekend I finally bought the Sigma cheap cheap lens 18-125mm lens.. good for lazy bone like me... but the weather was no good last weekend, couldn't fully test this lens..

the sound and the speed of the motor is acceptable.

Dom,

You finally brought the Sigma one. How much you paid for it?

the 20D is really attractive especially the low noise performance in high ISO, quick startup time and also the reducing in weight, but of course according to the 10D record, should wait until more people tried it.

I am not much interested in the new EF-S lens, it is pricing too high considering it is just EF-S mount instead of EF mount even though the range is very attractive. I would also prefer the Sigma one for low price alternative.

Actually its size is just a little bit bigger than the kit lens, quite convenience.....
