[澳洲] Carlingford public school or Carlingford west primary school? [複製鏈接]

Dear all Sydney mom,

I live in Carlingford near Mobbs Lane and Marsden Road, about 15 mins walking distance to Carlingford Public School.

Few of my friends suggested me to enrol my son to Carlingford West Primary School because it has better reputation than Carlingford Public School.

I did not grow up in Australia so I would have no idea about which primary school is good. None of my friends children are studing on that 2 schools so they cannot really advise me the differences in between.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I'm looking for a house in Carlingford too.
I heard from the agent that Carlingford West Public is good but Murray Farm Public is even better.

my cousin lives in Carlingford, she also says Carlingford West is better, but how? She cannot tell, it is just by words of mouth.

Hi ptsamm,

How r u? Have u found a place in Carlingford yet?

Some of my friends also mentioned that Murray Farm p. is even better but my address is not in the catchment of Murray farm p. nor Carlingford west p. I may have to go for out of area application.

Hi lillymarie,

U r right, it is just by words of mouth. I may have to go to the schools and check them out myself. The least I would expecting the school have air-con so kids can concentrate during summer time.

Will you consider Eastwood Public? My son attend there and it is very good. Although Carlingford is out of boundary, but some of his classmates are not living in Eastwood too, like Carlingford, Denistone, Marsfield etc. The school can accept student that live in nearby subsurb if the class is not full.

hi all

my girl is studing Kindergarten at Carlingford West now and I found it's a good school. I think they have a very good reputation.

There is no limit on how many out-of-area schools you can apply, since the application forms are lodged with each individual schools.

My experience is that the school will expect a letter to accompany any out-of-area application form, stating clearly your reason for applying for their school.

Your success will depend on how many spot they have available.

Even for hugely popular schools - you do have a chance of getting in. We got into Denistone East the same way - our reason was that both parents work full time, and the Aunty who has been looking after my children (since they were 6 months old) lives only 500m from the school, she will remain as their before and after school carer, plus her daughter attends the same school.

(Also helps that the teachers can see my kids everyday when the Aunty goes to school for pick up & drop off)
