I just brought this cam because highly recomand by the sales yesterday. However, I can view it at my home with typing the IP address but cannot view it when type http://xxxx.dyndns.org:700

Below is my config.
1)Register Hostname in dyndns.org
-Uncheck Wildcard alias
-service type select: Host with IP address
-IP address (use auto detect IP address) this is same as my WAN IP address

2) In my DI-524(D-link) Router
-Enable DDNS
-Select DDNS provider: DynDNS.org(Dynamic)
-input the name : xxxx.dyndns.org
-input user name
-input user name password
-Enable DMZ
-input IP address in DMZ

3)IP cam network config.
-select static IP
-input IP, sub mask, default gateway,primary DNS
-Enable UPnP
-Enable Bonjour
-Port number Http : 700, RTSP:554

My ISP provider is I-Cable, connect via wireless. Can any expert tell my what wrong with my setting? I really appreciate. Thanks

I also just bought this IP Cam a week ago. I have the same problem, but I know the reason that might be the same as you.

You can view it at home because you log in by using the internal IP (e.g. 192.168.xx.xxx:xxx).

However, when you log in at your office by using the xxx.dyndns.org:xxxx, it failed because the xxx.dyndns.org is not referring to an updated IP address of your computer or router. That is because dyndns.org was not updated by your router or something wrong with the dyndns.org service, I guess.

That is the same problem I am facing. So if you do not have the update problem of IP, please tell me how to do it. Thanks.

My IP can renew in dyndns.org. But when type the hostname it cannot be reconigze. I can login with external IP.

How do you do your port forwarding? By DMZ or Virtual Server? I had problem with DMZ setting. I suggest use virtual server setting instead of DMZ.
Try if could help you to solve the problem.

I still need to solve why my hostname still cannot work.

Used virtual server.
e.g. 192.168.2.xxx port : 8888
The sales suggested selecting
DMZ.

I suggest you check your hostname by using PING, see the xxx.dyndns.org is referring to your externa IP correctly or not.

It is not very difficult for installation.
What you need to do is setup DDNS properly from your router.
Then setup NAT on your router,
ie. Local IP of your camera (e.g. 192.168.1.100 local port 80), outside port (e.g. 1111).

What this mean is when you type
http://xxxx.dyndns.org:1111 from outside internet, then when your router see this request, it will re-direct the request to your local IP (e.g. 192.168.1.100 your IP cam and communicate using port 80 which is default port for the cam)

When you are at home, you can simply type http://192.168.1.100 which will go to this cam.

Also, if you have more then 1 IP camera.
You can setup NAT on your router.

e.g.
local IP Local port outside port
Cam 1 (192.168.1.100) 80 1111
Cam 2 (192.168.1.101) 80 1112

Then when you type
http://xxxx.dyndns.org:1111 , it will connect to cam 1.
http://xxxx.dyndns.org:1112, it will connect to cam 2.

How do you know your IP is renewed? By going to the dyndns.org to check, or use the command nslookup? If you can use external IP address but not hostname registed to dyndns.org, it is either the problem of DDNS updating or retrieving the correct IP address from dyndns.org.

BTW, as you are using I-cable, there is no need to use port 700. Use port 80 should be fine.

I-cable seems to block PING request from internet. So even the devices at home is listening to PING, the PING packet never reaches your home.

Though you turned off the firewall of your home PC, there must be another firewall in your office LAN to block access to internet especially using non-standard ports.

Did this Cam support viewing by PDA phone? I'm carry HTC TYTN II. I try to login as rstp://xx.xx.x.x/mpeg but cannot. I had open the port 554. Pls advise, thanks
