My baby is now 24 days and i'm BF. These few days, she can't have a more than an hours' sleep and she seems having kind of stomach pain. Also, she releases a lot of "gas" that thinking she might have some gas in her stomach.
What can I do ? It's really exhausted that she can only sleep a bit longer if holding her.
Your baby may intake a lot of air during sucking motion and that's why You have to help it to burp (sound like "gur") after half way and each feed. Try holding the baby sitting upright on your lap, swapping its back upward whild holding its chin with one hand. Or you may try to let your baby's chin rest on your shoulder in an upright position, in this case you probably need to protect your blouse with a gauze on your shoulder.
oh, I do know I need to "burp" her but she always falls asleep everything after eating that it's more difficult to get the "burp" and I don't want to wake her up. Besides, I thought Baby has less chance of sucking "air' inside when compared with bottle feedding?
yes, JJ&JEFF, I'm now also holding her most of the time for her to sleep a bit longer and i can at the same time having a bit rest.
Have anyone try anykind of message course? I heard it helps but I don't know where to get one.
I had the same problem when Theo was 3 weeks old. We went to Dr. Wan at Union Hospital, she prescript a wind control drop - Infacol Wind drops. As my baby growing older and his gastrol system developing more mature, he needs less of this wind drop. Now I only feed him the drop whenever I hear the tumbling sound from his tummy while breast feeding him.
Dr. Wan advised that the wind drop is harmless to baby, its function is to gather the small gases in the tummy to make big ones so that these gas can pass out the baby more easily. You can buy Infacol in Watson / Mannings / drug stores, prescription is not needed.
