阿仔剛2歲, 仲成日流口水, 幾乎每天都還在流, 尤其是看電視入神時流得很厲害, 我不停地提他合埋口和"tonne"口水

吾知甘大個仲流口水是否有問題? 會晤會口部肌肉控制不好? 佢講野比較慢,會有關係嗎?

有經驗的媽媽知道嗎?

My son is like that also. He is 2 years and 2 months now. I took him to a speech therapist for assessment, he doesn't has speech delay, but he has weak oral motor 口部肌肉.
He has some improvement after some therapy sessions.
You can train him blowing bubbles, massage his cheek muscle, blow whistles, use "long" straw to drink from the cup, and chew more "hard" food and snack.
You can search this 流口水 topic in the forum, a lot of mothers have share their tips.

I think you can try some training at home first. But you have to try at least 2 months as everyone improvement is different, and also depends on if your child is co-operative or not. Sometimes, you have to think of some tricks to play with him and make him enjoy the excersie.

For massage, just like doing facial. Massage his cheek from down to up in a circle movement. Also, can massage his lips. If you move his upper lip to left, then move his lower lip to right together. I think your child may also doesn't close his lips tightly. That is he is kind of open his mouth all the time. Remind him to close his mouth and ask him to swallow.

我個仔鼻塞才會流口水，所以我主力搞好佢個鼻先。我個言語therapist 教我同佢玩貼紙遊戲，將貼紙貼係佢嘴邊(面頰和下巴)，讓他自己搣返出來，可增加嘴邊皮膚的敏感度，讓他流口水時感覺到自己的口水，提高他吞口水的意識。平時都可以跟他說"吞口水"。

I am not sure about the details of your case.
The ST also tell me to massage his inside muscle also as my son is very reluctant on touching his cheek and oral inside muscle. He doesn't like to brush teeth. He really has sensory issue on his oral muscle.
So, every child is different. I need to be very patience and persistance on training him at home.
Right now, he doesn't like to blow bubbles as he thinks is not fun anymore.
It is still a long road for me.

We brush his teeth twice a day. He is okay with that. He is not very cooperative when we brush his molars but he is not rejecting totally.

Every child is different. 100% agree with that. Your experience is valuable to me. I shall not play bubbles with my boy everyday. I shall train him with different games everyday so that he have consistent fun with the games.

Another point I suspect about is my boy's thumb-sucking habit. He is doing it everyday for many times. Is it a possible cause of oral muscle problem?

My son was sucking his fingers sometimes before, but not anymore now. According to my ST, my son was seeking comfort for his oral muscle.
Maybe your son molars is sensitive also, that is why he doesn't like you to brush it and he wants to suck his thumb. You can try to give him the 牙膠 to chew on.

The above thread has some tips from other mothers in BK about drooling problem, you can read it as it mention about drooling from in the middle conversation.
According to my doctor, 發音 and control 口水 is using the same set of oral muscle. That is why drooling can affect your child can't pronounce some words. Can your child make 豬嘴? My son can't, so he can't pronounce words like "Wu" sound clearly. His lips is not "round" enough
(圓嘴.) because his oral (cheek) muscle is too soft.

My boy 's ability to speak is slightly delayed. His pronounciation is also not clear. Proabably because of the drooling. At this moment, we are not very worried because he is improving slowly. As long as he is making progress in speaking, we will observe and see.

Tonight, let me play 豬嘴 with him.

忽然想起我個仔睡覺時呼吸聲都幾重, 最近時常挖鼻孔,吾通佢都有D鼻塞而我地無留意?

請問你個仔鼻塞明不明顯?會挖鼻孔嗎?

囝囝的鼻塞好明顯。瞓覺的時候好似抖唔到氣咁用力吸，會咯咯聲。平時用口呼吸，好大抖氣聲。

我個仔的case可能特別d.....

我個仔依家四歲,佢流口水流到三歲半(三歲半仲要戴口肩),佢亦都係有語言遲緩的問題.當年吾同的專業有吾同講法,我帶阿仔睇左三個言語治療師,一位私家的言語治療師就話....有共同專注力問題的小朋友就會流口水;另一位政府的言語治療師就話....個人專注力不足所以流口水;另一位私人言語治療師就話佢口肌未發展成熟,建議做口肌按摩.

不過....我最後睇左遲語天才一書&愛因斯坦症後群兩本書的英文被之後,就吾再信言語治療師講的野.跟住....就如本書所講....大概三歲後才識叫媽媽就會自動停左流口水,而阿仔如本書所講有超凡記性,讀書好叻,過目不忘,一聽就會學識,學校認定他是資優兒童,依家安排緊六歲做IQ Test.

但我確定一點就係....語言發展係同流口水有關,我個仔依家的語言能力只得兩歲,連吹泡泡都做吾到.

可以同佢做多0的口肌, 搽果醬係佢咀邊等佢"LUM", 俾百力支佢兩邊TOOTH咬, 吹feather, 吹bb等, 好多野可以同佢玩下先...同埋在家可以試下唔好用口水肩, 等佢知道濕左既唔舒服, 佢自然記得吞口水...
