my boy was 2 years old at that time. they had an ArtBegin class which helps to stimulate the children to look at the things in the nature e.g. sea waves, trees, flowers, butterflies, peacock etc and to appreciate the colors and shapes and movements.
then they will make some art work based on the theme. very inspiring (to me, at least)
I think they try to introduce art to children, not just to make some artwork.
