When I talk to my colleagues in Europe, most people like to live HK as the tax is low and they can plan their retirement earlier.
If more and more good quality people come HK and create jobs, we would be good as we get more tax payers. It might have a chance to lower the income tax. That is the good side
However, more and more people take benefits, we are in a danger situation. increase tax,most people would leave HK for other countries.
CHANGE THE BASIC LAW. It has to be practical!!
HUMAN RIGHTS ARE IMPORTANT BUT HAS TO BE BALANCED WITH OTHER INTERESTs.
