My hubby and I are sponsoring my in laws. What kind of information do you want to know?
First you have to be qualified to sponsor. Need to provide financial proof. Need to add up the total dependents and your spouse plus the number of people you have/want to sponsor. It has a table show you how much income you will need.
The wait time to get the sponsorship application is around 28 months, then it will send to wherever visa office oversea to get processed and that will be another 2 years or so. In total it will take around 4 years to wait.
don't worry too much. They will review your application in 2 years anyway; there are a lot of things we can't control. If your financial isn't approved, they will return you the money less $75 application fee. I think they will only check the financial once because I also sponsored my husband and I submitted the info once and never asked again.
We filled out the form ourselves. As long as you gather the information and put them in order, you don't need lawyer.
I did get an employment letter because I was on maternity leave before and the income was cut a lot, so I get my employment letter to show I have been working for so long and how much I made. It is more convincing.
Actually, if you plan to apply, you should do so ASAP because the process takes so long now. Before, my in laws don't wanna come, but now they changed their mind and we have to wait so long.
For financial report, you will need to call Canada Revenue Agency to get a Option C printout (free of charge)
