I will recommend to buy TVpad. I have both of them. If you want to watch live TV. TVpad is a good choice. Of course, TVpad is more expensive, but it is a one time only. It is worth. 小米盒子有IP或其他限制, and the programs are not very stable.
i went to one of the bk mom home for lunch yesterday, she bought a 小米盒子 from one of the address that posted by the other mom in the site for HK$550+ in April this year. i watched it yesterday, high definition and lots of choice, but one of the drawback is most of them (english program) are in mandarin... and have lots of channel from china.. i haven't browse all of them.. so not sure if they have mandarin for the TVB programme too..
the bk mom said shamshui po selling the TV pad too, but more expensive HK$1300+ which is almost the same to buy it here in toronto. then don't bother to buy and bring it over.
Those selling in HK are jail-break versions which tell the server that your IP is in China and therefore enable you to watch programs available (e.g. Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, mainland dramas, movies, game shows, etc.) in those Chinese websites. They work very well in HK, those salespersons said they work in Canada too.
Bot it in SSP hk the end of the April. It cost me only 499 HKD. Highly recommend to get one if u dun have TVpad.
i don't have the TV pad, pls pm me the address and shop's name in SSP where you paid HK$499 for? i will be in HK in oct ... are they all jail break? and ready to use in canada?
you can order it on taobao.com, which is only 299RMB + transport fee (To HK address ~$38 HKD).
If you want purchase it on SSP. you can go to G/F of 福仁商埸 which is opposite of Golden Computer Center.
The JB version of 小米盒子 can watch TVB, ATV and 60-70 TV station in china but the video is not play smoothly when you are using a slow speed internet.
