I'm now taking leave at home to train my new indo helper! It's like putting myself in jail throughout the CNY holidays!!
Setting up a time table of course is a must but I'll also show her how to do it once (like demonstrate the work step by step), then let her do it. I prepare a log book for her to jot down BB's activity, e.g. 8:00 8oz-milk, 10:00 cheese, 12:00 congee, 3:00-4:00 nap, etc. The log book is for your reference to check if she follows through the routine for BB.
Before my indo helper arrived, I prepared soap/shampoo & rushed to look for any old winter clothes or those recycled from family members - just in case she did not bring her own. She did make sense to bring along her own soap/shampoo/toothbrush etc. but winter clothes are not found in her luggage. If she only brought along her good self without much personal belongings to HK, just offer her soap/shampoo etc. & tell her to buy her own when she got paid by end of this month. The indo helpers especially those new to HK usually don't have winter clothes because never experience what will be like in winter. Remember to keep her warm = to keep BB warm = safe guard the whole family from catching cold. So, I collect my + family's old winter clothing for her. She's happy with it & touched by the warmth of my welcome.
