Which is the best area to live in Perth? I have two children, boy 4 years old and girl 2 years old.

Good district with decent schools and shopping? And also good commute to CBD.

I\'m more familiar with Melbourne and have no clue what Perth is like.

Please share your views. Thank you!

if u r going to enroll your kids to govt sch in future, you may check this website

the property px in good sch zones is high. thats the universal norm.

for good govt primary sch, you may consider churchlands area. the living environment is good too but property px is high. 10 mins drive to CBD if no traffic

I am looking into applecross, como, Fremantle.. Are these areas ok for family life, school life and sufficient transportation? And decent rent prices?

3 places..all located south of the river. all good. applecross is one of the most expensive (property) area. como is near the zoo (My kids love it) and near CBD. fremental is a bit far from city and can easily cost you an hour drive to city when traffic

Ok! Thanks! Applecross and Como do look very nice but yes to rent is pretty expensive. Sigh.... With a family of four what would monthly spending be like? Is it around $6000 AUD PER MONTH?

Yes. Have already been looking at it. Looks like minimum rent would be 600AUD PER WEEK for the suburbs we like.

Utilities are much more expensive there. Would it be around 100AUD a Month?

my hubby says as he can remember, water fee is paid annually. it is more than 1k. and u hv to pay extra if exceed a certain vol. my mother-in-law now pays several hundreds a month for electricity. they live in a 3 storey house of 4 adults. so i guess it must be more than aud100 a month for water+electricity even for a rented unit.
