Hi, I know a lot of mums use Alfresco on their babies. I want to check if this is ok for daily use? I live in Sai Kung and the 'mosquito season' is coming... so I better be prepared!

I had tried the Swisso Baby insects repellent lotion and it works well on me. But my baby was too young last summer so I didn't try it on him (besides, I didn't get the lotion for infants but the one for age 3 & above).

Money-wise, the Aflresco lotion is about $320 / 200ml vs. Swisso Baby lotion is $135 / 150ml.

Can any mum share your comments on these 2 brands with me? Many thanks!!

我BB兩隻都有用過.
我覺得 Alfresco 好似勁 D, BB 搽完去街街都無試過俾蚊咬. Swisso 就太"笠", BB唔係咁鍾意用..
上年我兩隻都有買, Swisso 就係沖涼後當 baby oi l搽係佢個身度, 出街前就會用番 Alfresco (會帶埋出街補搽).
今年都會買番樽 Alfresco, Swisso 就會換其他牌子. 因為今年BB兩歲幾, 選擇多左, 可以俾佢試吓用蚊貼同其他小朋友防蚊產品 !!
你買 Alfresco $320 咁平? 邊間度買架?? 我呢之前兩年都係係 Sogo 買, 要成 $390 呀!! Swissco 我係用 baby 防蚊油架, 唔係用 lotion

Thanks for your reply! I could only find the mosquito repellent lotion in Swisso Baby's website. So they have oil too? Maybe you can try the lotion coz I tried and I don't find it's "lup" at all (the lotion for kids of age 3 & above).

Actually you may order Alfresco products directly from their UK site. Any purchase of 2 or more products can enjoy free shipping (even to HK!). The 200 ml moisturizer is the same price as the set of 50 ml x 4, that's GBP 20. So it should be more or less $320. Here's their website - http://www.alfresco.uk.com/.

So do you think if the alfresco lotion is ok for daily use? If yes, I guess I will order the Alfresco, but first I'll still need to wait for alfresco's reply as I'm asking if their product can be used on babies with G6PD deficiency.

我個BB係８個月大開用左 Swisso 先(依我記憶, 啱幾個月大 baby 用既防蚊係oil), 不過效果唔係咁好同埋"笠"佢唔鍾意, 我先又去 Sogo 再搵第二隻!! 個 Sogo staff 介紹呢隻 Alfresco, 話呢個天然產品適合BB用, 即使你幫BB搽完, BB食手指, 食到D cream, 都完全無害... 佢講完, 我即時係搽係手度，用口"lam"過唔苦, 過左十幾廿分鐘無敏感我先買!!

Thanks again. Maybe I should go to Sogo to check with the staff for more info first before I order them online.

Btw, do you think the Acqua D'afresco will be useful? I wonder if I can use it as a room spray rather than spray it on my bb's body directly...

Actually this will be my first time ordering from their site, so I am not sure. But even if they charge the packaging fee (should be GBP3.5 for 2 quantity), that's still cheaper than buying them in HK, right?

Btw, I got Alfresco's written reply as follows (FYI):
"...In most circumstances our anti bug bite moisturizer is fine for adults and children babies and nursing mothers. I’m afraid I am ignorant of G6PD so cannot advise. Would it help if I send you the ingredients?
Acqua is not suitable for children..."

So they can't confirm whether their product is ok for use on g6pd babies....

Yes ar, it is 遺傳. According to my doctor, he said it is mostly from mother's side. But I am not g6pd deficiency ga bor. I guess I am a carrier gwar...

The hospital has taken a blood test for my bb as soon as he was born and I knew about this from my doctor in that afternoon la.
