Most good quality carpets are made from wool and if you are not allergic to wool, then this type of carpet would be advisable.
If your allergy or concern is due to dust, then carpet performs better than timber floors as it traps dust in carpet until vacuuming. Hard floors let dust spread into air.
carpet supplier have informed me there is a carpet treated for dust-mites.
Carpet manufactured by Allied – silvercare range. This is a nylon carpet not wool.
Another good alternative nylon carpet is made by Cavalier-Bremworth – habitat.
The cost of carpet varies with selection made , between $60/m2 to $100/m2
