As I will bring my 4 yrs son to Tokyo in June, I still struggle in choosing between Keio Plaza and Metropolitan Hotel. The agency quotes me almost the same price for these hotel. My preference is Keio Plaza as there is free shuttle to Disneyland but I am afraid it is too far away (especially to my kid) from JR station (about 10-15 mins walk). Does anyone share your experience for my reference.
Yes, you are right, it takes at 10-15min from hotel to JR station. Keio Plaza will be more business feeling as it locates at business areas and it is quite quiet after 7:00pm.
Among two, I will choose Metropolitan as it is near shopping centres and JR.
bnmami,
I will bring my 4year old son to Disney in June too. I initially planned to stay at Keio, but my agent told me that there will be an exhibition around June 9 to 1x. I will go June10-13, so I can't stay there ... The agent also told me that all 5-star hotel in Shinjuku area are fully book (even Metropolitan). So you better check it out.
My friend just came back from Tokyo, he stayed at Keio, he took Keio's shuttle to Disney, it is free, convenient and fast. By the way, airport limosine also stops at Keio, another convenient.
Our family stayed at Keio Plaza last summer holiday. We took their free shuttle bus to both Disneyland and Disneysea (on separate days). It was convenient. Actually it took about 10 minutes to walk from the JR station. Not really far and there were some Japanese restaurants e.g. 和民 along the way. I chose this hotel also because it was a stop for airport limousine. Even you stay in Shinjuku Prince, it is still a headache to carry the luggage to walk to the Narita Express station.
Thanks for all your comments. In fact, i have the exact same concerns. I'd choose Keio because it has airport limosine and free shuttle to Disney but it's far from JR station. Another hotel I'm thinking is Tokyo Hilton which has free shuttle to JR station but no shuttle to Disney.
I'll be travelling with my 2 1/2 yrs old son and a 6 months old baby.
dada,
Do you know if Keio has mobile phone for rent? I stayed at century southern tower last time and they had mobile phone for rent for hotel guests. Thanks!
Sorry that I don't know whether they have mobile phone rental service or not. You may ask them directly by email. Last time I wrote to them asking the free shuttle bus schedule and they responded quickly. I forgot the email address but you may check it out from their website:
I will stay at Keio from June 27, maybe we can meet some days la!
dada,
Do you know whether Keio will provide free breakfast for young kids, just like my son at 4 years old as my package only include two breakfast for adults.
