I really like her. but like connidodo said, when I gave birth to my 1st baby ( 2 years ago) , I was very inexperience with HK medical system... so I didn't asked her how much to expect.
I had c-section and the total charge including hospital fee was $120K!!!
But i went back to her when I had my 2nd BB ( 2months ago) because I really like her personality and I think she's really experienced.
1st , She's really 直接 and不造作. If you ask her a question, she will answer as is.. it may not sound nice, but at least you'll know she's telling you the truth.
2nd, I had both BB c-sectioned and everything went well and I trust that she knows what she was doing
but here's a question, how do we judge a Dr? how to tell which one is good which one is not good???
1. we are not medical professional... even the Dr. explain something to us.... we may think we know... but do we really understand?
2. price? the cheaper , the better??
3. size of the clinic? got fancy equipment?
4. the size of your cut? ( c-sectioned?)
5. year of experience?
6. Dr's age?
to me... I think because I'm not a medical professional, unless there's something wrong with the procedure... I won' t even notice the difference. i know they are all qualified doctors recognized by HK government. year of experience , yes I think that's important... but ultimately, I think it's 人夾人緣... you have to find someone you can trust. Sometimes, it may just be a feeling… cannot explain.
When I first came back to HK.. and I was pregnant, I didn't know any Doctors in HK... so I went to see more than 15 Doctors in HK... and finally I found her.. and she's the only one I liked. I like direct people with Western style... if you like that, chances are, you'll like Dr. Chow.
p.s. her office is small... and always packed with people... every time I had to wait for over an hour to see her.
also, make sure to ask her about $$, so you can budget.
I think Stephanie Chow's reputation is worst now.. when I visited her in 2005 (my baby born in 2006 jan).. the clinic was packed with patients. we have to wait for over 1 hour even we have booking!? when I went there sometime in 2007 to get back some reports, the clinic is empty!!
Anyway, I just visited another Central doctor but seems 唔夾!? she responds to my question only if i asked.. even i told her my first scary experience.. she has no suggestions/comments on my 2nd pregnancy
