Paper gold or jewelry gold? Gold price is much lower than 2 weeks ago.
I bought some 9999 gold jewelry last Sat (2 days ago) at HKD8550 per tael, if sell to jewelry shop, they take HKD78xx per tael. Today's gold price is about HKD80 lower.
Expect to continue to drop. If you want to sell, go and take action now. You can sell your gold at any jewelry shop (like Chow Tai x, Chow Sang x)
E.g. if you buy your gold in Chow SS, then sell back to them. If you sell to other shops, you will expect they offer a lower price (90% or below, depends on the pureness of your gold). Some old gold are 999, not 9999.
Want to buy more, but watched TV these few days, analysts said will drop below USD700 per ounce (it's now USD78x). I purchased a little bit of gold jewelry for 3 times in the past month (from USD850-920) at quite a high price as compared to now. So better wait wait first, as gold price will continue to drop (no war ma and USD continues to strengthen).
I've checked with the gold shops that price of 金條 or 金 beads are just a little bit cheaper than gold jewelry, just that gold jewelry needs to pay goldsmith fee.
For investment, better to buy paper gold as there is no difference in purchase and sell px. However, I don't like paper gold because I can't see the gold visually. Won't wear gold jewelry but feel happy watching something bling bling.
