There are religious associations to accomodate them, eg., Christian Action, Bethune House, and another called Leppo(don't know if this is spelled right). There are around 50 beds available in each of such house. All of them located at No. 1 Jordan. They provide food free of charge to the maids, and beds for them to sleep at nite. These maids can do part time jobs outside during day time, with which the associations won't manipulate as long as the maids come back to the house before the stated time at nite (around 10.00pm).
I have met a Yan before, who came to my house for an interview and she told me all these while we had a chat. I cannot rememeber much of what she described but one thing which I had deep impression was that there are a lot of maids who were injured by hot irons on their body (what she means is: many maids abused by employers) and they seek help from such organisations.
But even if they have wounds on their body, it just cannot convince me that they have been abused.
