General Cleaning and Maintenance
To keep your purse in perfect condition, perform some general cleaning and maintenance at least once a month. Dip a towel or a microfiber cloth in a bowl of cool water. Wipe the cloth across the surface of the bag, using a little pressure to remove in any set-in stains. Run a second cloth across the bag to remove any excess water. After removing all the contents from your bag, use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a hose attachment or a Dustbuster to remove any dust or grit from the inside of the handbag.
Spot Cleaning
A simple product that works well for spot cleaning is baby oil. It won't degrade the PVC like other products will. When you notice a stuck-on stain, soak a cotton ball in the baby oil, place the cotton ball on the stain, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Wipe off the excess oil with a new cotton ball. Baby oil makes the surface of the bag slick enough that debris slides right off. You can also buff the stain out with a toothbrush.
Removing Interior Stains
The best thing for removing interior stains is hairspray. Remove everything from the Candy bag and turn the bag inside out. Mist the stain lightly with hairspray until slightly damp. Place a piece of paper towel on the stain. Blot the stain until you remove as much hairspray as possible. Repeat this step until you remove the stain. You can also use a combination of equal parts distilled white vinegar and lemon juice. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture, squeeze out the excess moisture, and dab the liquid on the stain.
