Hi ptsamm,

I would like to share with u "2007 The top 200 school in NSW" but found that i can not attached a document in BK. It determined based on the ranking of HSC result that year. The top 20 definitely give you the idea where u should be looking. It combined both public and private school.

U can pm me your email address so that i could forward it to you.

My intention is to put up at BK so to share with all BK parents so if anyone know how i could do it, please let me know also.

Yes, you are right. Lane Cove/ Gordon/ Killara/ Lindfield...etc

Is your child a boy or girl? The following are schools for girls.

Dear Sachi,

Yes. PLC is one of my favourite too . I intended to send in an application soonest and put my daugther into the queue. My daugther is in year 1 only, I am not too rush for her to get in. So if it needs to take few years is still fine with me.

emailed you the document already. pls. check. PLC is within top 20.

I have heard that some of the parents put their child in queue while the baby is still in mummy's tummy!

It's possible that you need to wait for a few yrs.

Have you applied any another school as back up?

Maybe you can consider the one in city "International Grammar School". It is a co-ed one.

I heard that too. My aim is for my daughter to get in before secondary school so it is alright if a few years waiting is needed.

No. I have no other school yet in mind for a backup. Do you have other schools recommended?

Try the other 2 I have listed below.
Ravenswood & Abbotsleigh

They are very good as you can see on the HSC 2007.

My real case... I came over to Syd for studying when I was young and needed to look for a high school. I took the placement test at Ravenswood and they accepted my application. However, it took 5 yrs to get the place!! At that time, I was settled at another school and therefore did not accpet their offer.

So I think is the right time to apply for your daughter.

You meanthat if you want to apply good high school, we better hand in application fewyears before. It seems unbelievable. How can they make the decision to offer whenthe kid is too young to test their abilities?

How aboutprimary school? Do you need to apply earlier?
Have youheard about preparatory school? Is it easier to enter a good high school for thestudents of their preparatory school?

How old is your daughter and when are you intending to sendher? There are few good girl school in the Eastern suburbs such as SCEEGS, Kambala, Ascham Sydney Girls High (selective). For all these, waiting list is long and application is made many mnay years ahead of time.
