HR 係 Human Resources, 即係以人作為資源咁去投資, 就似湊大一間公司咁, 要一個人在機構內"成長" 除比錢"養" 大佢, 仲要因適當既工作畫分到安排, 所謂 "right person to the right job" 就係咁意思, 因此 HR 會 cover:

2) Recruitment and Selection
3) Performance Management
4) Compensation and Benefits
另外就係 Organizational Development, that includes:
5) Training and Development
6) Talent Management
7) Succession Planning
8) Career Planning
OD 都係 HRM 既一部份, 但做 "HR" 同做 "OD" 既多數係兩類人 (雖最終會 under the same boss - HR Director ar, VP ar 咁), 因為我經驗見既係, 鍾意做 HR 既人唔一定鍾意亦適合做 OD (即 training 既提升版) (我盡量簡化咁講, 希望我表達得楚), 同樣, 做開OD既人亦唔做意做 HR 的 (好多人形容較悶既就係HR, 即上面1-4個堆)
一般中小企, 因資源問題, 根本唔會有HR, 有都係會係 front line 樹揾個人兼埋, 如請人呀, 簽約呀, 計糧計大假, 報稅呀咁, 我會形容呢D係 Personnel activities rather than HR activites, Personnel 係 more responsive 既工作, 即係有人走, 請人補啦, 夠期就出糧啦, 有人離職辦手繽啦, 咁既話, 熟 employment law 係都夠了, 幫到唔少, 但唔係 strategy, HR 係講 strategy, more proactive role.
