她收到termination letter on 10 July, 而她9 August 離開, she cancel the air ticket immediately on 10 august, I think she wants to stay HK to look for another employer, cause she ask me not to give her air ticket, give her money. She work in my family only 1 and half month. She is very lazy too, she is the youngest sister in her family, my friend said don't choose the youngest one.
I decide to pay her $1500 to settle this case, cause I don't want to waste time to 'play' with her, I need to apply holiday when meeting with Labour dept. She promised to withdraw the case when she get $1500, I must give her check this time.
Just an advice, you should inform the officer at the Labour Department about this before paying her $1500. They should be able to give you some advice on how to protect yourself as your bun can deny you paying her any money.
Or worse, the maid would use the excuse that you agree to settle with her to "prove" that you were in fact "guilty", otherwise you wouldn't agree to settle with her.
Just be careful.
I had also been sued by an ex-maid and went to the Labour Dept. just once for half an hour.
