My son also always use his left hand since 10 months (playing and eating). But when he at about 3 years, I don't know why, he use right hand more and more (both eating and writing).
I think may be because if the BB look at you, you use the right hand, and he will use the hand in same direction as you (he is using left hand).
Because my son begin have meal with my families when he was 3, so may be he know he use the different hand(compare with us) when he sit next to us, and then he use the right hand again.
