Its reli depends of what aspect you are looking into. Having good paid job doesn't mean you are contented n hv an enjoyable life.....
To me, I haven't been back since I finished studies in oz. I love the lifestyle here. Comparing to my fds those work in HK, I hv more family n me time. I could say I am reli enjoying my life here and not only surviving to fight for a life!

I think it depends on what is important to you.

I cannot put a $ value to a lot of things that are important to me - spending time with my children / better living environment for my family / being closer to my parents and extended family / different pace of life so I can enjoy other things.

Plus I don't earn "millions of annual income", so that took care of the difficult part in your question.

Is it a serious question from your friend? ..... if i would enjoy job satisfaction and good income..ofcourse i would prefer to stay in that job. However, with my personality..i will stay in that position for a few years and then early retire..then enjoy life wherever i want to stay... : )

I guess they are considering this option too.

Making this kind of salary in HK, I don't think they will work in OZ. Maybe it is wiser for them to work for two more yeras and retire because after tax, working here for one year, they have to work in OZ for more than ten years, provided they are able to find a job in OZ.
