Hi Angel,
my BB boy is 3 months old, I am feeding him around 5 meals 人奶 and 2 meals in formula. As I don't have enough milk for him. I think you can feed your BB with 一餐人奶 as long as you still have milk
some moms did feed baby both ways,
but for your information,
before visiting this web site, some
moms did so, but after they know
us, they have incentive to give baby
100% breast milk, and finally they
success.
so if you have any concern that
you cannot 100% breastfeed your
baby, just let us know your
problem and hope we can help you.
Hi Monmantong,
thanks so much. Actually I wish I could 100% breasfeed but my milk supply is limited (from day one till to today). As I went back to work for a week, can only pumped 9oz milk which could only support 2 meals to my BB. Normally I can only support one full breastfeed for every 5 hours (which is around 4.5ozmilk) and my BB needs 7 meals per day....therefore I need to add 2 formula for him

How many hours you worked per day, i am wondering why you
need to give baby 7 meals when you are out, did you nurse your BB directly when you are with him?
anyway, let me share my experience, when i was back to office,
i also had to give him formular , like 3 meals per week, as i do not
have sufficent stock at home, which it lasted until my baby was
4 months. . however, later i learn how to
feed one side and pump another side from this BK web,
so i did so, as per my schedule as below:
morning. before going to work- pump one side, nurse another side
--- get 3-4 ozs.
11:00am - express by hand at office - 3-4 ozs.
1:15 am- lunch - pump - like 3 ozs.
after work : 6 ozs.
so total wl be 17 ozs, when my baby is 5 -6 months, he
needed 18 ozs ( 6 ozs x 3 times), so i pumped
when i went back home, feed one side and nurse another
side again- got 4 ozs,
if not sufficient or want to make more, wake up at the
midnight and feed one side and nurse another side
again, got another 3-4 ozs.
see above for your reference, and if you can do this,
and pump more on Sat/Sunday, your stock should be
sufficient.
hi Monmantong,
here is my schedule please comment on it, thanks in advance for your time & patient !
-morning nurse both side, as one side is not enough
-10:30am pump in the office (both side together 4-5oz)
-2:30pm pump in the office (both side together 4oz)
-after work pump at home (both side together 4oz)
-at around 11:00pm nurse both size
-in middle of the night formula and pump (both side together 4oz)
as my BB needs around 30 oz per day
total around 12-13 oz (pumped) + 2 direct nurse (around 4-5 oz each), then I still need to add 2 meals with formula
Hi! x aggie x
May I know how many ozs does your baby need each meal? Since he is only
3.1/2 months, believe 5 ozs should be enough for him each meal, and
when will you be back home everyday? Eventhough you feel your breast is
empty after pumping, it has milk actually, because when baby is sucking,
you can produce your milk at the same time. But of course, the milk flow may
be slow after pumping, but it is good that because it can increase your milk supply
also, for example, you can offer left side for him when you pump right side,
and after pumping right side, you can offer him right side, then for your brain,
your baby has already taken like 4 ozs from your breast, and you have pumped
3 ozs, so your brain receives the message that is your baby needs 7 ozs, so for the
next meal, it can produce 7 ozs . how much your baby eats, how much you can produce for the next meal.
Also, you can feel that when you pump or feed hm for your left side breast,
Your right side breast will start to be full .
Therefore, I would suggest you still pump one side and feed another side for
Him in the morning and night, you can continues let him sucking after the
Pumping, he should get enough milk.
Though the earlier days you may not get enough , base on the more days you
practice, you will gradually increase your milk supply, but it will take
at least 2-3 weeks, as you have let your inside body to adapt to the new
changes and signals.
Also, remember to pump more when Sunday and Sat, same practice as above.
Also remember to drink more water, take more fish soups, soya bean milk
That can help.
Hi Monmantong,
Bb needs 4.5 to 5 oz milk per meal. Thanks for your advance I will try it today and let you know the result later thanks again :>
