My baby does not feel like drinking milk since he was two months old, he is now three months old, but still the same. Whenever I give him milk, he will cry cry cry... but if I give him the dummy, he will suck and settle, then I give him the milk again he will cry again, I though he may be not hungry so I try to feed him later, but still the same. He used to drink milk very quick when he was newborn. Anyone has the same experience, and any advice for me? thanks.
Could it possibly be the temparture of the milk? or the taste of the milk (may be change of milk powder recently?). Just brainstorming, hope it could be of help.
It may be the nipple's hole. is it too big for him? so that the milk pumped out too fast? I am not sure!! It sounds like a serious problem but it sustained for 1 month now, why don't u seek help from doctor?
My baby drank 30oz milk daily when she was 2months but she only had below 15-20oz milk daily after 2nd month injection and the volume was reduce to 15oz daily. I consulted many doctors and they said it is normal. I ignore this problem until one doctor told me my baby is suffering from heart disease. Doctors told me babies are refuse to having milk if they suffering from heart disease coz they feel uncomfortable and hard to breath when they having milk.
I'm not sure whether your baby's situation same as my daughter. My personal opinion is to consult doctor if you worry. Ask your doctor to listen baby's heart and lung.
My girl is the same as ur baby. She fright with the milk almost everytime. My maid & I also feel that she make us like we are feeding her poision.
This happen since she was 2.5mos. and she is now 5mos. She is a pre-mature baby (34wk5days), those baby might have the problem of "sucking" according to the Doctors. I bring her to consulate another Dr. and he said she have the "sensitive nose". and that is the reason when she can not breath as normal when drinking (because the bottle block her mouth)
No matter powder milk & breast milk I feed her she still do not want (she prefer water).
Above is what I quess last time, but I read the data from this chat room last week and I saw some of the mother was also talked about this problem, their babies was also the same before, they said some babies have the "hate milk period" (sorry for my poor english translation) and it will become better when they are about 5mos. (hopefully it really happen!) As they said, if everthing is going on Ok for the baby, it is not a problem.
Thank you for every mum's advice, I have the case very similar to 小茹, I did ask two doctors about this problem, but they said if he doesn't like to drink that much then just leave it, as long as he is gaining weight okay, then it is fine. Of course I want him to eat more as I don't want a thin baby, so I need to spend at least one and a half hour on every feed, what a hard work!!!
My baby is having S26 since birth, I heard some people said I can give him "open milk tea", does any mum try it? Is it work? My baby is only three months old, can he drink "open milk tea"?
My baby can drink totally 700ml-800ml per day, sometime she can finish 170ml, sometimes only90ml. It take about 1.5 hr to feed her and she do not allow us to sit down unless she feel asleep everytime we feed her.
The symbol before she begin to refuse the milk is she vomit almost everyday at noon. Before this she used to drink a lot and I notice that this happen to quite a lot of baby in the same case as when I saw here.
Is it okay to have open milk tea when my baby is three months old? Because I asked a chinese medicine shop, the man said my baby is too small to take it.
Hi Ching Ching 730,
I am not so sure if ur baby is the same case as mine.
I love to share with u my experience as if ur baby refuse the milk as the same reason.
When he do not want to have the milk at first trial, u need to be patience and try again every 5-10 mins later. No matter how he really do not want it, he will feel hungry later. Try to encourage him by using some toys, normally my baby will corporate with us especially when she is quite hungry. If she start to fright, I draw her attention by using a toy which have music/sound and with blink (blinking lights) with it and most of the time she will forgot to fright and start to suck . (I even place already the christmas light at home when it is only Sept.).
Of course, if ur baby is keep on refusing his milk for quite long , might be u should bring him to the doctor for make sure everything is OK with him.
Hope this can help u!
