depends on what kind of work you did before in HK. no Canadian experience did to get the first job. for the pay, - depends on what kind of company u work for. Chinese company more mean. pay less.
I used to be accounting clerk, but now just receptionist..
My job is government job that you can say it's 西人job. Same pay as others, and I am equivalent to 高級公務員。you mean 外國公司is Canadian company or international company?
yes. nowadays the government has a really good program for new comers, got all those training (free of charge) to help you out for job.
I got laid off last june - registered with the service Ontario, they sent me all those info for job interview technique course, how to write up resume... etc.
I have no education background in Toronto, so I looked for those Chinese employer first as we speak the same language... which will be the stepping stone.
took me 7 months before i got a job. now I worked for a Italian boss, they don't mind my English as 90% of their customers are Chinese. so they need me to speak Chinese with the customers.. so there is always hope ...
I also want to share that if you take courses from community college or university, the instructors may refer some temp jobs/volunteer jobs which are job related. It's a good start to have the experience there. Also, there is career centre that can help to review the resume so that you can make your resume more "Canadian"....Lots of resources from school...
