Don't come. U simply let your child to go to international school if you don't want too much pressure in their study. I can't see anyone I know can get a better job or even same level of job compare to their HK job. The trouble is it is really really hard to get a job in Australia because they need you to have what they called local experience. Excludes rent, we need to spend A$5,000 to $6,000 a month (3 of us) in average excludes HK holiday every year.
If I can choose again, I will stay in HK and let my boy to go to international school. Australia education is the same. You got 3 choice
public school - free but not good
catholic school - small fee (A$10,000 /yr) and better
Private school - about A$30,000 a year and the best
I still need to pay my boy to go to private school but I am small potato in Australia and can't compare what I earned when I was in HK
Now, we are planning if we can go back to HK after my boy finish his university study. We believe he got better career opportunity if he goes to HK due to native english speaking. However, we also need to think carefully because he will have same problem again if he go back to Australia (lack of local experience).
Yes. There is no pressure at all for child to study in Australia. They are so relax everyday and my boy spend 5 days in basketball training and games per week and then one day in playing badminton. He spends no more than 20 minutes a day but only 3 days a week to his study. But he stills very outstanding compare with other child in his age.
My wife and I have different opinion. She likes HK more because she want to have more family time with her mum and sisters. I am OK just visit my parent once a year. My boy just go to school camp yesterday and we both feel so bored. If we are in HK, then we can visit family, relatives or friends etc. In Australia, it is a bored country ...
