Do anyone have the experience of renting a flat? what information must I provide to the flat owner? Can the flat owner refuse to fill in his address in the rental contract (but I have filled in mine)?
I will sign a rental contract soon but the agent said the flat owner won't turn up at the same time to sign the contract, i.e. we will sign the contract separately. Should such thing happen? Any advice for me? Is there a need for me to insist that the flat owner to turn up? I haven't seen the flat owner at all. Is there a problem?
I have been renting the flat for 2 years but we haven't seen the flat owner before even when signing the contract. We signed the contract separately as the flat owner didn't come up as he's a busy business man. So far we only contacted by phone.
It doesn't matter if the agent is a famous one. I think the flat owner is even more concern to meet the rental parties as the law protects us better. So if he won't come, let it be!
Is it important to look at his identity card or a copy of it? I note that even the information of the land registry (?) doesn't contain his ID card number...
