Apple iPod shuffle
iPod 系 列 全 球 銷 售 已 經 突 破 100 萬 部 ， 04 年 的 銷 售 總 額 ， 相 對 03 年 以 驚 人 增 長 500% ， MP3 全 球 市 場 佔 已 率 達 65% 之 大 ， 不 過 Apple 今 次 再 投 下 一 枚 大 炸 彈 ， 推 出 超 平 價 版 iPod Shuffle 。
同 以 往 iPod 系 列 最 不 同 處 ， 是 首 度 使 用 Flash RAM 設 計 ， 容 量 分 別 有 512MB 及 1GB ， 價 錢 分 別 為 港 幣 $780 及 $11,70 ； 機 身 設 計 好 小 巧 ， 亦 是 歷 來 體 積 最 細 一 部 ， 體 積 只 如 兩 隻 手 指 咁 大 ！ 機 面 是 iPod 招 牌 的 按 鍵 設 計 ， 不 過 由 於 機 身 太 細 ， 所 以 放 棄 了 Display ， 不 過 就 加 入 了 隨 機 播 歌 ， 機 頂 收 藏 了 一 個 USB 插 口 ， 可 以 傳 歌 又 叉 電 （ 內 置 鋰 電 池 ） 。
iPod Shuffle 都 可 以 講 得 上 是 最 震 撼 登 場 的 一 部 iPod ， Keynote 一 完 ， 馬 上 在 美 國 的 Apple Store 發 售 ， Steve 打 趣 話 展 場 外 三 個 街 口 就 有 間 ， 點 知 各 地 記 者 一 完 Keynote ， 全 部 先 唔 去 睇 新 機 展 覽 ， 個 個 掉 轉 頭 走 去 買 機 ！ 記 者 現 場 所 見 ， 長 時 間 維 持 成 百 人 排 隊 買 iPod Shuffle ！ 相 信 新 iPod 是 繼 iPod mini 後 ， 另 一 部 有 機 會 帶 來 熱 潮 之 機 。

Technology: size matters
"[2005] will be an era of digital music," declared Apple CEO Steve Jobs in his keynote address at the Macworld expo in San Francisco this month. Walk into any techie shop and the displays bear him out: you will find arrays of MP3 players but fewer and fewer CD and MD walkmans. Size matters for these personal jukeboxes: the smaller the better. Dominating MP3 (hard disc) sales are Apple's iPod and iPod mini, with 65% of the market.
Jobs has just announced the arival of a new family member: iPod shuffle, a chewing-gum-sized MP3 player (flash). This small but powerful player costs just $780 (for 512MB) or $1,170 (1GB).
Another exciting new Apple product is Mac mini, a tiny G4 computer that comes without keyboard, monitor or mouse and costs $3,900, the cheapest Mac ever made. Jobs promises to deliver by late January.
MP3s may be shrinking but televisions are getting larger. Bang & Olufsen sales executive Bach Wong reveals its largest model currently measures 50 inches, but there is a bigger one in the pipeline. Samsung already has an 80-inch plasma TV: that's bigger than a dining table for four.
This will be the year of digital photography. Professional photographers who once questioned the quality of digital cameras are now swarming into this brace new world, attracted by professional models such as the Nikon D2X (12.4 mega pixels; approximately $39,000), which arrives here in late February, and the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II (16.7 mega pixels, price not available).
