Renew a contract with a phillipino maid after 4 years employment
My sister has been using a phillipino maid for nearly four years. So far her performance is OK, no bad manners, willing to do extra on her day off. My sister is considering renewing her third contract eventhough she know she will need to pay a long service fee, however, my sister was told by her friend that Phillipino maid usually play game after renewing her third contract, this is because they will get over $10,000 pay if they get fired. My sister concern her maid will do this to her. Anybody has any experience or suggestion???
Re: Renew a contract with a phillipino maid after 4 years employment
hi, elegant,
If your sister decides to hire a new maid, can you introduce your sister's maid to me? I have a 2.5 year old girl and is expecting my second baby in April. But I find my maid (hiring for 2.5 years) perfoming worse and worse these few months (seems like that she wants us to fire her so that she can go back to Philippines to get married). I urgently need a new maid who has experience in taking care of new-born and has good word-of-mouth. You know maids in HK now are usu. terrible and I dare not go to agents to find a new one on such an urgent basis since many readily available maids are fired by their employers, and so no good. Please pm to me if you can give me further details. Thank you very much.

LaLa,
My sister's maid will not be finished contract until end of August, I think it may be too late for you right. Beside, I am not sure if she is going to renew the contract or not.

Dear elegant,
I have a similar case as LaLa, I have a 3.5 years old boy and an expected new born BB in Sept. If your sister does not renew the contract with her maid, please PM the details to me. Aug is a good time to me.

hongkongjos97,
My sister's maid does not have any experience with new born, in addition, she is currently looking after a family of 3 only, 1 couple and a 10 year old child, not sure if she could handle a family with 2 young kids. In addition, my sister is still undecided whether she will new her contract.
I would suggest you look for someone with new born experience.
