The transportation system here is called MARTA. Yes, you can take MARTA to go to major cities like downtown Atlanta or Buckhead; you can even take MARTA and transfer to bus to get to china town, However afterall it is not like NYC that you can walk to everywhere and the more affordable residential areas are in the suburbs which are not really accessible by public transportation. Driving is still the easiest way to get to places.

It's true that more and more asian are moving to GA.... but they are mainly Korean. Most asian are living towards the northern part of Atlanta such as Marietta, Alpharetta and the schools there are very competitve.

The weather here is similar to HK. It gets really hot in the summer (90 at least, sometimes 100F+) and winter could be very cold (20F, but mostly 30-40F).

If you decided to move to Atlanta, I will suggest you to learn driving. Atlanta has a lot of black people and MARTA passengers are mainly black (no discrimation, I know a lot of black people and they are really nice) but if I were you I won't feel comfortable to bring my 2 daugters and ride the train by myself.

Thank you for your prompt reply. It really gives me very useful information about the city. I'll discuss with my husband if we do need a field trip to Atlanta. If we do, may be I'll ask you some more information. Thank you again.

No problem! Anytime you have questions you can ask me. If you are planning to come check out the places, make sure you wear appropriately... it's been very cold these couple days at night (30-40 degree at night)...

Thank you so much. I think I would most probably come to check out the place on the coming Lunar Year Holiday since I want my husband come with me.

How about the temperature in February? Is it very cold at that time? Shall I have to bring the down jacket with me?
