Dear All,
Do you know how many beds are in each 普通房?
I will also be deliverying in QM and my due date is 4/30 ah! I will be visiting the maternity ward next SAT.
Also, do you know if epidural (painless delivery) is available 24hrs a day or only during 9am-5pm?
Thank you!
YEs 24 hours stand-by. I went for a check up at Tsun Yuk yesterday and was told that they have everything/persons needed for emergency cases.
The services described are very attractive. I want to try QM but my hunsband prefers St Teresa because private hospital is more flexible about 'visiting hours'.

I had epidural when I gave birth to my son in Toronto and it was a painless 12 hours labour, like in heaven! So I was hoping to get it done again in QM this time. I'm really nervous and worried about deliverying in HK because it is a totally different medical system and experience...
What kind of transportation did you use or plan to use to go to QM when labour starts? HB driving? Taxi? Or call Ambulance?
most likely my husband wl drive me to the hospital. hwvr, parking at QM is very expensive - $20 or $25 fr 1st hour and double on the 2nd hr onwards.
if you call an ambulance, make sure that you're eligible to do so (ie in the same neighborhood) coz it can only take you to the closet one and you can't choose a specific hospital.
