Totally agreed. Really very comfortable. I tried when I need their consult how to feed my BB correctly. You can choose a chair similar to this one. The only problem is a bit bulky. If your bedroom is big enough, it's good.
Do you consider sitting up in a rocking chair instead of armchair ? After breastfeeding , you can rock your bb right a way ..Rocking chair is a comfortable nursing place...
I don't buy it because I use the side-lying hold to breastfeed my little one..Sometimes he will go back to sleep after he's full ...
For the my first child, I sat on a small sofa in the reading room. This time, my mother in law and mother will be around so I am hoping to get an armchair in the reading room so that I can have some privacy. I want to get a small arm chair but I shopped around today they are expensive. The good ones are above HK$10,000. Those from Ikea are afforable (around HK$1,000+) but the height does not seem to be good for bf.
I will have a c-section on Thur but still have not found a good chair yet. :-|
You can also consider the armchair of which height is adjustable (i.e. the one for office or in front of computer). I had used one in my study room with my second baby from time to time until baby is too heavy to hold. I found it same comfortable as the one in the govt clinic. You might also need a small stool for footrest. (unluckily I feel too embrassing as the maid and mother-in-law around with my first baby and sitting in a bad way on my bed only - and my back hurt badly at that time)
Me too! Due to feeling embrassing, I was hiddening in a small corner, sitting on a small round cusion with the wall as support, a tool box for footrest. However, it really hurt my back and feeling very tired after each feeding.
Later on, my husband ask me to feed in our bed as he don't want me to hide in the small room and also want to 'share' baby. However, it's also not good to sitting in the bed - there is not enough support on the back. Later on, I go back to the sofa in living room and feeding even in front of my maid. Well, both of us are women, really have nothing to be embrassing.
I would like to suggest all BF mom to think about where to sit before delivery. The first priority must be comfortable. Otherwise, it really makes us tired. BF in the first month is a hard job already, don't let the other issue to make this job harder!
Me too! So I find it more comfortable to sleep on the bed than to sit on any place since it is the most comfortable position while both mother and baby can sleep
