web cam/IP cam 問題

本人將會請工人, 有聞web cam/IP cam. 可以在公司用作鑒察家中狀況之用(小弟十分關心bb), 請問怎樣應用和價錢如何呢?

我家中只有一部notebook, 是dell, 512DDR, 40GB HD, WINDOW XP HOME, 我需要更新和增添什麼器材呢? 可以怎樣應用呢?

希望各位電腦高手可以幫到小弟(小弟是一個電腦白痴), thanks! :mrgreen:

1. 你要有fix IP, 無就要set DDNS, 確保你能找到你家的router
2. webcam接上router並以dell notebook setup, notebook快慢無關.
3. 如budget許可, 最好買wireless cam及wireless router, 個cam便放邊都得.(視乎家居環境)
4. 最好買cam, router時找engineer幫你裝, 因wireless router有security問題, 他們識得set!!

我屋企都裝左一個 Wireless IP Cam, 覺得幾好, 部機就裝左喺廳, 可以睇實阿B及工人在家做梗乜野, 依家諗住喺自己間房都裝多個, 因為阿B日頭喺我地間房訓.

裝左之後, 你只需要搵部電腦可以上網, 喺 IE 度打番自己既 address 落去, 就可以睇到架啦, 自己屋企部電腦係唔使開既, 只要係開左部上網 modem & router 就可以了. 我果部可以 remote control 佢 pan 個鏡頭, 想睇邊度就 pan 過去, 仲可以錄落去電腦 or 錄影機, 都幾方便.

價錢方面, 一般有線既大約 $1,xxx 起, 無線就 $2,xxx 起, 如果有得 pan 既就貴多少少. 市面上都有好多牌子可供選擇, 你可以睇多幾間先 :wink:

Thanks for advise!

Just want to know one more thing. What is DDNS? & how to set up in IE. I know the ip address is not the same everytime. Is the ip address is confirmed each time by the internet supplier?

By the way, do I need to turn off the router each time when I back to home? You say we may have security problem after installing IP cam, so any extra charges is paid when ask engineer to install?

I'm so appreciate if gaxeed and sonic or anybody can give more advise. Happy New Year & Thanks!!!

DDNS - dynamic DNS. DDNS可解決IP每次不同的問題, 因為DDNS會因應IP的改變而修改你的記錄. DDNS免費的, apply了就可set入router內, 這樣router便能將改變了的IP address反映到DDNS.

Security 問題指wireless router如未set好可讓其他人偷用你的線甚至pc內. 另外因為任何人在外都能access IPcam的login 畫面, 所以IPcam的ID, password亦要set得好, 加上set IPcam 接router多數要set security port, 故一定要找engineer 幫你set, 比人睇到你屋內就唔好.

Router唔關得, 夜晚除非你部notebook唔上網.
Router一通你才可上網, 在街外才能接上IPcam!

我既做法係每晚返到屋企就 off 左個 IP Cam, 因唔需要再睇; 而 router 就會長開唔會 off, 除時可以上網, 記住 router 一定要 set security, 等其他人唔可以入到黎攞你條線, set 左後就唔怕架啦.

你可以要求幫你裝機既 engineer 幫你 set 晒以上既野, no additional charges 架, 對佢地黎講係好簡單既事; 另外, 買 wireless router 要睇下夾唔夾你隻 IP Cam, 我之前買左隻 "Ci" router, 完全唔掂, 之後換左隻 "Linksys", 幾好用又唔貴, 大約 $410-$430. IP Cam 我就用 "Vivotek" PT3124, 大約 $3,200.

提一提你, 你去買 IP Cam 既時候最好問一問佢地會唔會幫你裝, 因以我所知好多都唔幫你裝架, 有D就算你比錢都唔幫你裝, 要你自己搵其他人裝架.

I am considering to install IP cam. I know that there are brands like Panasonic, Vivotek, Veo, etc in the market. But I know that some IP cam will use port 80 and other internet port at the same time for connection. However, many fire wall in public area (including my company) only allow port 80 and block other internet port. Do you know that any brands can pass through fire wall? What is your experience in using Vivotek in public area? Thank very much!

$3200 for a webcam seems quite expensive, how't the performance when comoaring to Netvigator's Netsee service? I am paying $18 monthly charge, but need to turn on PC and use regualr webcam.
