You can try www.jetstar.com.au and buy it online. Sometimes they have special promotions. The price from Gold Coast to Sydney can be from AU$29 only. Hope this can help.
I am going at the end of June too. I've bought my domestic tickets thru Virgina blue online, it is very convenience. But you might want to check out the price fast, those prices jumps up very easily on day by day basis. So would be good if you purchase it online at your earliest possible. But the bad thing of this is, you can't cancel on those tickets, once you issue, you have to bear with yr own responsibility. Believed there are penalty charges on changing the date. So, suggest you first plan up your itinerary before buying anything tickets online. Also, suggest to take Virgin Blue for yr domestic carrier, as my fd who lived in Sydney, she told me Jetstar is not too realible even though the price is lower.
